These row houses were inspired by the Bulgarian resort architecture of the 70's with its very modest expressive means, characteristic combination of roughly plastered surfaces with wooden elements and a deep understanding of scale and place. Unfortunately, modern resort architecture has largely lost these traditions. Here we have tried to follow the old-fashioned principles.
Project: Low-storey housing development, bearing traditional Bulgarian rural house features. Development includes different housing types: row houses, twin houses and single family houses. The land site is situated within the southern city districts, bordering the national reserve – Vitosha Mountain Park.
The project was not realized by us, but it helped the client a lot in the initial vision and understanding of spatial volumes, scale and style of the future development, which was later successfully realized by another bureau that already had experience in this area.
